Meteorologist/MMJ

Weekday/Morning Meteorologist/Reporter needed to be a part of a 3 person weather team.
If you have a passion for weather, I want to hear from you. Your Hometown Lima Stations has an opening for an on-air personality dedicated to providing the weather to weather hungry Northwest & West Central Ohio viewers. The winning candidate will present the weather during our First Edition morning show and Noon Edition program on our NBC Lima station. An outgoing personality is a must. This is a unique opportunity as we have all 4 major networks under one roof. Live weather reports from the field will be required. Successful candidate will also be required to post the forecast on our website, and Facebook page. There will be some news reporting in addition to weather duties. If candidate is able to shoot, write and edit  weather & news stories on ENPS and Final Cut Pro, you have a leg up. The winning candidate must work well with the weather team and news staff. Working knowledge of WSI Max, ENPS, FINAL CUT and TOWN NEWS moves you to the head of the class. Meteorology degree required. Meteorologist

KXII News 12, the weather leader in the Texoma region, is looking to add a fourth meteorologist to the market's most experienced weather team. The right candidate will have a combination of broadcast, digital, and technological expertise to tell weather stories on a variety of platforms. This meteorologist will work behind the scenes designing weather graphics for on-air, our website and apps, and social media, serve as the department's primary talent for digital and social media, as well as fill in on the air as needed. The candidate selected for this position will have experience in WSI or Weather Central industry-standard weather graphics and forecast platforms.

Well-demonstrated experience in weather alert systems as well as extensive knowledge of social media with the ability to disseminate weather information across multiple platforms is also required.

All candidates should possess a meteorology or science-related degree. You should also be certified as a meteorologist or be near completion of the requirements for certification.

Meteorologist/Multimedia Journalist

Looking to gain experience in the middle of Tornado Alley? KSNT News is looking for an entry-level meteorologist to participate in our severe weather coverage, learn from our experienced team of broadcast meteorologists, get valuable practice presenting the weather on multiple TV stations, and turn weather and news stories to supplement our newscast content.

Responsibilities:

•    Present clear, focused and forward-looking forecasts for Saturday, Sunday, and other assigned newscasts, as well as written forecasts for our web and digital properties.
•    Ensure that all weather content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
•    Be active on social media, engaging positively with viewers, including with Facebook Live updates, Twitter posts and Facebook forecasts.
•    Self-report to participate in severe weather coverage, by giving live reports from the field or studio, helping to operate equipment and participating in keeping other team members in the field out of harm’s way.
•    Provide live weather and news reports from the studio and field, as assigned.
•    Pitch weather-related and outdoor stories on a daily basis.
•    Shoot video and interviews, prepare scripts and edit news and weather stories to air in regular newscasts.
•    Respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
•    Record weather updates for radio station partners.
•    Participate in anchoring newscasts and providing context and appropriate conversation during newscasts.
•    Communicate with managers, coworkers and viewers by email and social media.
•    Participate in promotional activities including public appearances.
•    Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
•    Experience with an internship or position inside a professional broadcast or cable TV station.
•    Experience using social media.
•    On air experience in school or in a professional environment.
•    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required.
•    Flexibility to work any, filling in for sick and vacationing colleagues on the weather team.
•    Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
•    Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
•    Experience using a personal computer, email, word documents and spreadsheets.

POSITION SUMMARY: Do you have a passion for weather and storm chasing? Our StormTrack 8 weather crew is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic meteorologist to join our team. You would be forecasting on the weekends with chances to chase during the week in the weather vehicle we call “The Beast”. When weather is slow, you’d help our news team out by turning weather-related news content.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Strong forecasting and adlibbing skills are required. Must be able to handle stress, including short deadlines. Meteorology and Journalism background, excellent English communication skills and a basic understanding of AP style are required. Computer skills are required. Experience with Photoshop and digital video editing are helpful. Must be self-motivated and able to work with a diverse group of people.

KTWO Morning Meteorologist Position

KTWO-TV, The ABC Affiliate in Casper, WY. has an immediate opening for a Full Time Weekday Morning Meteorologist. We are looking for a person who can not only present a comprehensive forecast, we are looking for someone who also has a viewer friendly personality, and can be quick witted on air. We forecast for the entire state, taking Severe and Winter Weather seriously. We use the State of the Art Baron LYNX Display System, and was one of the first few stations in the Nation to use it. We have been known to beta test products and provide feedback to Baron from time to time.

Duties will include: Weekday Morning & Noon Weather, Record Weather Webcasts, Update website & social media as necessary, and occasionally report on environmental science.

REQUIREMENTS:
A Degree in Atmospheric Sciences / Broadcast Meteorology
Experience with Baron LYNX is Not preferred, but recommended.

Opening at WGXA in Macon for a Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter

This position will require reporting three days a week, but weather/environmental/science related stories are encouraged. Macon is an hour south of Atlanta, two hours inland from Savannah and four hours from the Florida Gulf coast. This is a great weather market and highly competitive.

GIS Technician

Long-term position
Atlanta, GA

Job Description:  GIS Tech will be taking in as-built construction pipe drawings from field and putting them into GIS. They will also be converting asset and land base records into geospatial format in the GIS for infrastructure construction projects for all subsidiaries and produce related maps, reports, and queries. GIS Tech will be creating, collecting, revising, analyzing and validating enterprise asset data within the enterprise GIS system. They will convert as built data into GIS and create maps, drawings and reports for internal and external customers. 95% of their time will be spent within ArcGIS - the other portion of their time will be spent within ArcMAP and other internal applications.

Work Environment:  Office setting. Cubicle style environment. There are around 40 total employees apart of the GIS team. This is a very team oriented position which requires a lot of collaboration with the GIS team as well as interacting with Environmental, Mechanical and Civil Engineering teams.

HOURS
Monday - Friday, 40 Hours a week, 1st shift. Overtime will be on an as needed basis and is at the manager’s discretion at the beginning of every week.

Qualifications:   This is an entry level position. No work experience required if recent graduate.

EDUCATION
Required: Bachelor’s in Geography, GIS, or Geospatial Science or related discipline
