Caroline Sleeper
Caroline Sleeper is a Distance Learning Instructor in the Department of Geosciences at Mississippi State University. A proud alumna of the department, she earned her bachelor's degree in Physical Meteorology in 2021 and her master's degree in Applied Meteorology & Climatology in 2023. She spent her first year after graduate school in the New Orleans metropolitan area utilizing her meteorology background in the disaster recovery field. Her experience in this field provided her with a deeper insight into the challenges of post-storm recovery an the complexities involved in rebuilding and securing reimbursement for municipalities and nonprofit cooperatives.
Her research interest lies in aviation meteorology, and more specifically the relationship between weather conditions and flight delay trends. Her master's thesis is titles "Analysis of weather-related flight delays at 13 United States airports from 2004 - 2019 using a time series and support vector regression."
