Mary Ann Dean began her career at Mississippi State University in 2000 as the Administrative Secretary in Curriculum & Instruction. She has had the pleasure of also serving across campus in the College of Veterinary Medicine - Office of Special Programs as Administrative Secretary and in Chemistry as an Information Processing Operator. She joined the Geosciences department in 2005 as the Executive Secretary. She advanced to the Academic Records Assistant for the Starkville Campus in 2006, where she served until moving into her current position as the Academic Coordinator for the Geosciences Distance Learning Programs in 2010. Mary Ann serves as the primary advisor for students in our five online programs. She serves as a liaison between Geosciences distance learning students and Geosciences and other units across campus. She works closely with the Department Head, Undergraduate Coordinator, Graduate Coordinator, and staff for the Dean of Arts & Sciences, Office of the Registrar, and Office of the Graduate School.
Mary Ann grew up in Mississippi and lives in Eupora with her husband, Scott, and their children: Micah, Celie and Colby. She attends Tomnolen Baptist Church where she and her husband work with the youth.
