Christa Meloche Haney grew up in Great Lakes region in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, where she developed a keen interest in weather at an early age.

 
   
 

Before coming to Mississippi State, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Windsor, where she studied Geography, Stats, Meteorology, and Climatology. Christa received her Master's degree in Geoscience at MSU where she concentrated her studies in Meteorology and Climatology. While pursuing her Master's she was an avid storm chaser, and radio and TV weather personality.

 

Christa joined our staff as an instructor in January 2000.

 

Her pastimes include: hockey, rodeo, camping, fishing, hiking, biking, reading and cooking. She enjoys her ranch-living outside of Starkville surrounded by kind folk, beautiful scenery and wildlife.
