Dr. Cooke holds an appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Geosciences and is Associate Director at the Geosystems Research Institute (GRI). He has over 23 years of experience in Remote Sensing and GIS research at MSU and with the USDA Forest Service. Specific areas of expertise include applications of Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to landscape-level risk assessment, vector-borne epidemiological research, disaster management, and landscape suitability analyses. Awards include A&S Researcher of the Month, 2009 GRI Faculty Researcher of the Year, and 2010 MSU Faculty Researcher of the Year – Centers and Institutes.
